Alert Motorsport is a Division of Alert Engineering Co. Ltd.
ALERT ENGINEERING Co. Ltd. is a 100% New Zealand owned and operated company.
Founded in 1973 by Allan Lewis and now Alert celebrate over 35 Years in business.
Over the years the company has grown to become one of New Zealand's most diverse engineering companies, which sees our products exported around the globe.
The MotorSport Division started over 20 years ago as a hose shop stocking Aeroquip Performance Hoses and Fittings. Over the years Alert Motorsport have added the following respected brands to its range. SamcoSport Silicone Hoses, HEL Brake Hoses, Pipercross Filters, Laminova Heat Exchangers, CPR Fuel Systems, Momo, RaceTech, Elf Lubricants, Patterson Dry Sump Tanks, Aviaid Dry Sump Pumps & Accessories, Setrab Oil Coolers and MagnaCharger Super Chargers to name a few.
With the product range expanding the decision was made in late 2007 to move Alert Motorsport into its own building, located just down the road from Alert Engineering at 5/4 Clemow Drive, Mt Wellington.
The team at Alert Motorsport are very pleased with the move and with the positive feed back from customers is very reassuring. Now with the extra space and a showroom the team are able to display the products we represent.

Being as the Targa was built around the classic car, a 1972 Datsun 240Z was purchased with the intention of building a 240Z Scrab, which is a 240Z with a V8 Chevy motor. Over the next couple of years Allan rebuilt the car and fitted a Supercharged LS1 Chev V8 engine for a bit of excitement.
The car was completed for the 2007 Targa Rotorua and has competed in all Targa events since.

Allan - Managing Director
Allan the founder and company owner is a man who is intensely interested in all things mechanical. Allan's background in racing started with his long friendship with Calven Bonney and the Speedway at Western Springs. A few years back Allan had a go at the Targa Tour and from then on he was hooked.Being as the Targa was built around the classic car, a 1972 Datsun 240Z was purchased with the intention of building a 240Z Scrab, which is a 240Z with a V8 Chevy motor. Charlie - Sales
Charlie has been a dedicated motorsport man for years and as a qualified motor mechanic and having owned his own mechanic workshop, Charlie has taken care of a number of motorsport cars. He is constantly being asked to set up race cars and is currently involved with an endurance racing Mustang and a F5000 team. Another passion for Charlie is Hot Rods and is midway through building a new Hot Rod with a difference - This one will stop, go and handle like a race car.Craig - Sales
Craig is a dedicated Mazda man, he has a knowledge of all things Mazda. He is also interested in "Old School" Japanese coupes. Wherever there is a Rotary or Mazda met Craig won't be too far away.
Kelvin - Sales & Marketing Manager
Kelvin is actively involved in the Z Club NZ, He also has a 240Z that he has owned for over 25 years and has competed on many car club level events over the years, before getting hooked on the Targa in 2002 after competing in the 240Z in the next 4 Targa events it was time take a breath and spend some time on the side line.Amanda - Marketing
Amanda is the newest to the team and enjoys everything motorsport. Since going around the track with Allan in his Datsun 240z she is mad keen on getting her racing licence so she can hit the track herself. At the moment she drives a sport SRI Astra and is looking forward to getting something a bit quicker to race round the track in.
John - Purchasing Manager
John is actively involved in the Mustang Owners Club and is a Ford man at heart. He also likes his Drag Racing, Indy Cars and can often be seen at Waikaraka Park Speedway (where he used to compete as well). John is an excellent organizer with many events becoming a success through his input and dedication. And having a Supercharged Mustang himself you'll find him at the Champion Meremere Drag Way giving it the occasional Slide down the Quarter Mile.In Summary
